Here is what you need to know about importing the Saturn game
Metal Slug: |

When it comes to 2D SNK is one of the best. Anyone even remotely
interested in fighting games would know of the greatness that is SNK's King of Fighter series. Another one of SNK's brilliant franchises is the Metal Slug series. And luckily, Sega fans get the chance to experience Metal Slug if they're willing to import for the Saturn.
For those who are unfamiliar with importing games just read my
Import Gaming Guide to get caught up on what you need to know to import games in general. In reading it you will see that some games are more difficult to import than others. Metal Slug is one of those games and this guide is here to clarify how to easily import the game and enjoy one of SNK's finest games.
If you took my advice in my Import Gaming Guide then importing
Metal Slug won't be a problem at all. The only special restriction for importing Metal Slug for the Saturn is that the game requires a 4MB Ram Cart to play. To import any Saturn game I have always recommended using the 4M Auto Action Replay Plus, a cartridge that plugs into the back of the Saturn and can serve as a cheat device, a memory card, and a ram cart.
To play imports successfully, all you have to do is plug in the Replay
Plus cart, load in a domestic disc, then when the Replay Plus screen pops up, select "Start Game," open the lid to the Saturn and put in the import disc," then select "Start Game Without Codes" and play away.
Importing Metal Slug is just as simple as the Replay Plus cart can
simultaneously fulfill Metal Slugs 4MB Ram requirement and allow you to swap discs. So there you have it. Importing one of the better games for the Saturn is just as easy as it should be. A mint condition copy (spine card and all) should run you about $45-60, but for anyone that is a fan of the Metal Slug series, SNK, or just 2D side-scrolling games in general, it's well worth the price. |
